I just returned from a two-week trip to Abadiana, Brazil, where I once again experienced the phenomenal healing powers of John of God. I traveled with my wife Anita, where we stayed at the Pousada Caterinense, a five-minute walk from the Casa de Dom Inacio de Loyola. It is at the Casa that John of God provides healing to anyone who comes every Wednesday through Friday. For the first week and a half, Anita and I were the only Americans at the Pousada. We ended up making friends with quite a few people that included six Australians, six Swiss, a Norwegian, a Dane and a large contingent of French. There were also a handful of Brazilians speaking Portuguese who were staying at the Pousada as well. For the cost of approximately $60 per day, the Pousada included a small room including hot shower and toilet along with three delicious meals. When the meals were ready, one of the cooks would walk around the Pousada chiming a bell to let us know that the food was ready to eat. Every meal included fresh fruits such as papaya, bananas, pineapple, watermelon and oranges along with freshly baked rolls and cheese for breakfast, while lunch and dinner included a table of fresh salads along with a buffet of eight hot dishes including beans and rice, a variety of sautéed vegetables, pasta, chicken and beef, occasional fish, and various casseroles and soufflés. There was always desert, which included cakes and various Brazilian puddings and mousses. It was the most delightful and healthy eating experience that we have ever had. There were many people there with all kinds of infirmities. Two people in our Pousada were blind or sight impaired, one young woman was autistic, one young man had suffered brain damage and could not communicate or walk, one of the Australian pharmacists had an aggressive brain tumor, two people there were suffering advanced progressive Lyme disease symptoms and those were just the ones that we knew about. We spent a lot of time at meals getting to know the Australians and the French Swiss, who we discovered actually speak fairly good English. The Swiss live in Geneva, a place we hope to visit sometime in the future. The Abadiania community is very quiet and fairly poor. Most people ride bicycles and there are very few cars, with the exception of the small taxis that drive-by occasionally, taking people to and from the Casa. While there is an Internet café, most of the Pousadas are now Wi-Fi enabled. We brought our laptops with us and were able to get some work done during the days John of God was out of town. The pace in Abadiania is very slow and lends itself to healing. This is not a tourist destination. This is a place to come to truly recharge your batteries. We did a lot of reading, sitting in cafés and enjoying Acai smoothies, resting in our beds and having long meals with friends.

The three days a week that John of God is at the Casa are filled with a frenzied activity. There’s a morning session and an afternoon session. If you’re going to be sitting in the current rooms meditating for up to 3-4 hours at a time, you need to be there by 7:45 a.m. or 1:45 p.m. for the afternoon session. This is the place where you connect to Source and do your very best to emanate healing loving energy from your heart. As 200 to 300 people each session bring their focus to their heart center, a powerful collective field is created that like a spiritual battery, enables John of God to bring through him the spirits of light and love to do the healing. He never asks for any money and accepts everyone who appears before him. As people gather together in the covered outdoor great hall every morning and afternoon session, lines are called into formation depending on whether or not you have seen him before or if you’ve been slated for a spiritual operation or invisible surgery. Other activities related to and often directed by John of God include visiting the sacred waterfall for purification and cleansing about half a mile away as well as laying under an array of specially configured crystals that are located above each of your major chakras as they alternate different colors of light to balance your energy body and bring into harmony any imbalances that are energetically compromising your health and well-being. John of God asserts and many people corroborate that sitting in the current room as well as laying under the crystal bed baths enable you to experience remarkable healings through the agency of the compassionate spirits that work through John of God. It is all rather mysterious yet everything there is working synergistically to help you to heal on whatever levels are needing to come back into balance. If you can afford the time off and the price of the airline ticket, the stay at a Pousada is actually very cheap since the exchange rate with the Brazilian Real is quite favorable (about 1.8 Reals to 1 American dollar). The Brazilians that we met are warm, friendly and generous. This was also the case with everyone else that we met at our Pousada. The first time you go, it is a good idea to contact a trip facilitator who will be your guide for that first two weeks. That’s what I did the very first time. Subsequent trips I did not need a guide and at the Casa, there are translators at each session to assist you to articulate your requests for healing specific issues as you come up in front of John of God.

As is always the case, it will take a while to integrate all of the experiences that I had during those two weeks. Overall, it was a wonderful and deeply healing experience. If you are interested in reading more specifically about some of the things I have experienced in the past, you can click the link on my website that says John of God where I go into greater detail.

The title of the conference is called Evolving Tools for Healing Mind, Body and Spirit. Plenary speakers will include William Bengston, Ph.D., a researcher in energy healing of cancer along with Dona Eden and David Feinstein, Ph.D. presenting on Energy Medicine.

As this annual conference evolves, so too does my participation in it. For the first time ever, rather than presenting at one of the breakout sessions as I have done in the past, I will be participating in a two hour long poster session. Though I had never done this before, using a PowerPoint template, I constructed a 4′ x 8′ poster that will be posted against the wall as people circulate in the room engaging me about the topic of my poster.

The title of my poster is Healing 27 Years of Existential Torment in Six Sessions. It is a single case study of a client who flew in from out of state for six 90-minute sessions with me. Due to having been victimized and then threatened by her ex-husband through domestic violence, she ended up no longer being able to parent her young son. She pursued all different varieties of psychological and spiritual help over the next 27 years, none of which helped her to resolve her deep suffering. After the 6th session with me, she was able to reconnect with her now adult son as well as her grandchildren from whom she was also estranged. Methods involve Dynamic Energetic Healing® incorporating energy psychology methods and core shamanic practices. Through the work, she released psychotoxic energy from the violence done to her decades ago, reestablished energetic boundaries with her son and received a power animal retrieval as a way to augment and support her growing assertiveness and self-confidence. Additionally, she was able to restore her connection to God by eliminating the self generated curse, “God hates me.”

In many ways her story is miraculous. She had tried years of deep psychotherapy, ongoing psychiatric care with pharmaceutical drugs, intense personal growth seminars by renowned seminar leaders and even earned her doctorate of Ministry. None of these methods resolved to her existential suffering. It was only through grace that somebody gave her my book which became the vehicle through which she contacted me and set up appointments.

I encountered a new experience that I would like to share with you. Several months ago, a client
came to my office grieving the loss of her beloved pet. By her own admission, she is “a dog person.”
For all of her adult life, she has had dogs as part of her family. Her most recent dog died at the age of 16,
quite old for a large dog. She wanted some assistance and support to overcome her loss as she acknowledged that ever since her beloved dog’s death, she had never felt the same. As we went through the DEH process, we identified that she was in-fact carrying some traumatic residue that she had
not yet been able to shake. One of the issues I quickly was able to identify was that she was only about 20% embodied. Dissociation from trauma is not at all unusual. As we went through the steps to restore full embodiment, it was determined that there was some supernatural interference associated with her loss trauma. Eventually, frontal occipital holding was called for. What I saw greatly surprised me for it was the spirit of her beloved dog that was attached to her energy field. She had earlier on in the session admitted to me that she felt that she just didn’t want to let this family member go because it was the last of a long line of dogs that she had cherished as a companion that helped her to feel complete. As I spent more time in the shamanic state of consciousness, I saw that there was a pack of dogs in the distance beckoning the spirit of her dog to join them. I was so touched because I had never before seen a dog or any animal attached to somebody’s energy field– it had always been a lost or disoriented human being. Because my client so loved her dog and her dog was so loyal to her, my client ended up in a situation that
ultimately was not for the good for either her or her beloved dog’s spirit. Eventually, with the encouragement of one of my power animals and good communication being generated between the attached dog’s spirit and its spiritual family of the pack waiting in the background, the loyal pet disengaged and joined its companions as they ascended to the place they needed to go to. When I shared this with my client, she was not at all surprised. She was both saddened and heartened to know that her loyal companion was willing to sacrifice its own personal evolution to stay with her. After the spirit releasement had been completed, my client was once again 100% in her physical body and all of
the residual trauma from her loss spontaneously resolved.

I just returned from the 11th Annual Canadian Energy Psychology Conference in Toronto, Canada. If you have never visited Toronto, I recommend you do so sometime in your life. The city is expansive as it is beautiful and diverse in its population. It has excellent public transportation and a wonderful array of internationally diverse restaurants, reminiscent of other large cities I have been to such as New York and London. I recommend it as a getaway destination should you have the time off to travel. My hotel was just a 5-minute walk from the famous and enormous St. Lawrence Market. Imagine a building as large as a Costco warehouse only with shop after shop of fresh cheeses, meats, seafood, spices as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Let’s not forget the casual little restaurants and stands offering ethnic foods and excellent Greek baklava dripping with gooey honey and filled with pistachios, almonds or walnuts (probably my favorite dessert in the world). I ended up favoring a seafood stand named Buster’s that made the best crab cake sandwiches I have ever tasted. On Sundays, local merchants come from out of the city to sell their fresh fruits and vegetables surrounding the market as vendors fill the streets. I managed to find some just-picked locally grown raspberries that were a great treat as our Oregon berry season is now just a pleasant memory. I had fun getting to know the area of the city that was within a 20-minute walk from my hotel by making time to walk around with a map every day.

The Conference was notable because of the world class key note speakers that were presenting there this year. I had the rare privilege of attending workshops by Donna Eden (who with her husband, David Feinstein wrote the classic Energy Medicine), where she demonstrated all kinds of different ways to balance our meridians and energy body. She is extremely vivacious and lively and made for a most engaging time. Her demonstrations reminded me to make some time to review my copy of Energy Medicine as she confirmed how effective and easy it is to balance the body’s essential energy system using muscle testing as the corroborating evidence.

Her husband David presented a key note presentation on the neurology of trauma and PTSD. He reminded us that PTSD does not heal itself. The old wounds generated from trauma continue to interfere with peoples lives. A hard-to-believe statistic is that the Institute of Medicine estimated that in 2006, over 30,000 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan were PTSD positive and that over 5-million Americans are afflicted by PTSD as well. Thus, we are a PTSD creating culture. He cited a number of studies done by energy psychology practitioners who have worked with returning veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan as well as children who were traumatized by genocide in Rwanda. The studies used EFT as the stand-alone energy psychology intervention and the outcomes were remarkable. Fifty Rwandan children with PTSD were given only one EFT session. On the initial questionnaire, each of them scored 100% for PTSD symptoms. One year later, only 8% still had any symptoms! Compared to veterans using other therapy methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy coupled with medication, the application of EFT after just six sessions significantly reduced nearly all of the PTSD symptoms of all of the veterans who participated. One study he cited included 19 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. They each had six EFT sessions and the changes in their subjective scoring of PTSD symptoms went from 60.5% down to 36.8%. PTSD is among other things, a memory that is too terrible to integrate. Our brain has evolved to keep us safe. The amygdala is an almond-shaped mass of gray matter in the anterior portion of the temporal lobe that is centered on threat detection and emotional memory. This is the part of us that neurologically gets triggered before our frontal cortex even knows anything traumatic has happened. What we have learned is that the brain cannot be stressed and relaxed at the same time. Energy psychology techniques create instant calming to counteract the stress response. One way to deactivate the amydala’s hypervigilence is through the use of energy psychology interventions that access our essential energy system that includes the meridian and chakra systems. This ends up deactivating the stimulus-response PTSD trauma symptoms much more effectively than traditional cognitive behavioral therapy. Considering just how comprehensive and consistently successful Dynamic Energetic Healing® is with PTSD, it is really wonderful to see how studies are beginning to emerge that corroborate just how powerful the results can be just using EFT while working with veterans and survivors of genocide who are still carrying war trauma-related PTSD residue. Attending these conferences is inspiring as I learn how energy psychology practitioners are creating well designed studies that reinforce the power and effectiveness of energetic interventions for dealing with trauma.

Joe Dispenza is the last key note presenter I want to share a few awarenesses I gleaned from his two presentations. He is a chiropractor who has been doing research on brain function and how we literally can change our brain through specific strategies. While neurological research of even 20-years ago believed that our brains are hard wired and never change, new research uses modern brain scan imaging technology that contradicts this and proves that new neuronal networks can be created through our commitment to change. How can one achieve these changes? First of all, we need to understand that every thought creates chemical changes from our brain cells or neurons and the more we think these particular thoughts, the more the neurons create expanding neuronal networks. As this occurs, the brain tissue itself grows and experiences plasticity which then reflects in changes in our physical body as well as in the larger quantum field. However, these changes don’t happen instantly—they take time. So making the time and commitment to practice repeatedly creates these desired outcomes. Mental rehearsal is one of the keys, especially in an alpha or theta wave relaxed state where our chattering conscious mind is out of the way. When we pursue this daily practice, we are reprogramming our subconscious mind which is estimated to make up 95% of our change making consciousness that runs our life in the background. Another essential ingredient for miraculous change is the strong belief and connection to the Divine Intelligence that is the Creator of all things, including all of our tissues, cells and consciousness. Dr. Dispenza’s message is simply that if your brain doesn’t change you won’t change. You can read more about his work in his book called Evolve Your Brain; The Science of Changing Your Mind.

Not only did I learn a lot from others but I also had the opportunity to do some teaching of my own. I gave a presentation about DEH along with a demo on Tuesday night that my Toronto colleague and DEH trainee arranged for me. On Thursday, I gave a pre-conference 6-hour workshop to an enthusiastic group of 15-participants who were eager to learn how to weave into a psychotherapy session the spiritual component of the power of compassionate spirits who facilitate and enable transformative change. I taught about the importance of second attention awareness and trusting Process as DEH is a non-linear process that requires trusting one’s perceptions as new information is constantly revealed. They also had the opportunity to learn the shamanic journey to the lower world. Some encountered a few problems at first so we established energetic boundaries with supernatural phenomena and the subsequent journeys went much more smoothly. One psychiatrist expressed the legitimate objection during the group process that her license could be compromised is she gets too overtly spiritual. Once this was released, she was able to journey more vividly than she ever had before. On Friday afternoon, I taught a 2-hour breakout session on how to use DEH with couples, families and groups. I plan to get this MP3 on my website in a few weeks so if you are interested, check it out in mid-November. A couple who attended my 6-hour workshop wanted a private session so we agreed that they would be the demo so they could get their session with me. It all went very well and as usual, their process was something I had never encountered before but ended up being completed just before the end of the session. The woman is doing some kind of earth healing process but was picking up subtle negative energies from the earth that had to be dealt with as a necessary step for her and her boyfriend to have good energetic boundaries with each other.

My wife and I recently spent a few days at a friend’s house in Newport Beach, Oregon. We had never been there before, and our friends had taken great pains to make sure that everything was vacuumed and counters wiped down and generally clean upon our arrival. Before going to bed that first night, I did my normal ritual when occupying other spaces other than my own for the night. This entailed calling upon my spiritual helpers and guides to ensure that the space was clean energetically. At about two in the morning, I became aware that I was in the midst of a very scary dream. I am not typically a lucid dreamer, but this particular dream was so scary to me that I woke myself up from it and found myself covered with goose bumps feeling very cold. I immediately knew that I had been contaminated by some kind of subtle negative energy. I spent the next 15 minutes calling on my helpers to support me to release whatever had attached to me. Eventually, I felt I was successful as I was able to feel calm once again and drift back to sleep. Why this happened in spite of my awareness to take precautions I do not know.

Curiously, over the course of the next two days, I could not get warm in that house, regardless of what I was wearing or how much heat was circulating through the structure. The third night I had another disturbing nightmare which required the same response from me. However this time, I had been awakened at four in the morning and I was not able to get back to sleep. Before having breakfast with my wife, I once again called on my guides to clean the house and create a sacred space for us. I typically don’t like to share the details about intrusions or attachments with my wife since it is my issue, and I don’t want to disturb her explaining how negative energies from another dimensions can come through and negatively influence us in our “normal” consensus reality middle world. As we packed up our bags to depart from this sweet little house and return to the Willamette Valley, we decided to stop at a little restaurant for an early dinner before we drove home. During our conversation I shared just a little about my perceptions that the house was contaminated and that I wasn’t so sure I wanted to return in the future. As we conversed, it turned out that my wife (who is not shamanically inclined), told me that she had problems sleeping that last night and also had a very unusual and disturbing dream. She told me that she saw a shaman gesticulating in a very intense way to ward off what seemed to her to be distorted and macabre aggressive beings trying to approach her. She said she had never had this kind of dream before, and as I began explaining what had happened to me, we came to the inevitable conclusion that we were both affected by negative energies that were inhabiting the house. I must confess I’ve never had that kind of persistent intrusion except just once before many years ago, when we were staying at a large hotel in Denver. It was during that Denver trip that I learned how important it is to create a sacred space and good spiritual hygiene in order to ensure that I don’t pick up anything in a foreign environment. I also came to realize that sometimes, if my initial efforts to maintain a sacred space energetically were continuing to be defied, there are larger issues with the space than just an errant earthbound spirit that happens to be in the space. In this case, one would have to spend more serious time and intention to “heal the house.” If we had been staying longer, that would have been my task.

I will simply summarize by suggesting that whether you are at home, sleeping in a hotel or someone else’s home, should you begin to have bad dreams bordering on nightmares, unless you have PTSD, it’s likely that the space you are in is energetically contaminated. A word to the wise—take appropriate spiritual precautions so you can get the sleep you deserve.

While working with a college student recently, I learned something new and very exciting about dealing with people in extreme emotional states. But first I’m going to sketch out a little background for you.

Gordon (not his real name) is a theater major having a very difficult time with his director for the play he’s rehearsing in right now. Gordon’s perception of his director (shared by the rest of the cast), is that Ms. Thomas (not her real name) tends to be emotionally volatile and at times unpredictably explosive in a critical and shaming way. Sometimes she is complementary and affirming of her students when they take her direction and accomplish what she had intended for them. Other times, for no apparent reason, she begins screening and criticizing in a way that ultimately feels very shaming and professionally inappropriate. As Gordon was describing her, I simply referred to her as “Miss Extreme States” as a way to create an identity or possible dream figure in the hope that this might clarify our work together.

From what I’ve learned about extreme states when studying with Dr. Arnold Mindell, you really cannot argue with somebody who is apoplectic because in a very real sense, nobody is home to consider your concern. When someone is in an extreme emotional state, it’s as if they are possessed by an extreme emotion through which there is no avenue to reach them at any rational level. Gordon had already figured this out, and realized that asking her questions about what he may have done wrong or misperceived would be pointless until later on, after the fit had passed. He noticed something else that flummoxed him. Ms. Thomas seemed to get most agitated at him when he was trying to personify his character in a very emotionally intense manner. As he was playing a villain role, it seemed reasonable to him to use his considerable talents to really get inside of his character and make him his villainous as he could imagine. Yet, often the feedback from Ms. Thomas was negative, even though he was doing his very best to follow her direction. He came in to see me because he was starting to feel really stuck. On one hand, he felt it important to follow the direction of his director. Eventually however, he started feeling anxious any time she gave him the direction and he tried to follow it because invariably, she would end up screaming at him. I muscle tested him to find out if he was 100% embodied and he was not. In fact, he was only 35% embodied. This was a consequence of having lost his power in relationship to Ms. Thomas and feeling helpless to be able to remedy the situation. I asked him to demonstrate 20 or 30 seconds of his personification of his villain character and admittedly, he transformed himself into a very intense and threatening villain. As we continued to dialogue, he told me that when he auditioned for the role, he acted out a monologue that was also very emotionally intense. When he was done, he noticed that there was a hush over the room as other students seem to be uncertain about how to react, and they were all looking at Ms. Thomas for a cue for how to respond. When he turned to Ms. Thomas, she had a very hard-to-read and perplexing look on her face, as if it was all twisted up and contracted. Her response to Gordon was, “Do you feel you always have to take things over the top?” Though he perceived some disgust in her response, he did get the role that he was hoping for but remained confused about how to be in relationship (as an actor) with this woman who is his director. Suddenly I realized what the interpersonal dynamic was. As Gordon increased his emotional intensity to embody the character of his villain, Miss Extreme States was seeing the part of her that was out of control and unconsciously projected onto Gordon (as her split off and disowned part). The more extreme he personified his character, the more upset she became because of her projection process. I then muscle tested Gordon and asked if he had any energetic boundaries with Ms. Thomas. Of course the answer was no. Since he was playing a villain and had to bring to the role substantial emotional intensity, this projective process was going to be inevitable. Unless of course, Gordon figured out a way to be as villainous as he felt the role should be but somehow modified his emotional expressiveness.

It dawned on me to use the EFT framework of the SUDS scale and calibrate the degree to which Gordon could express himself that would still maintain energetic harmony with his director. I told Gordon that we were going to create a scale of emotional intensity from zero through ten, with zero being no emotional intensity at all, and ten being the most extreme emotional intensity Gordon could imagine. I then explained to Gordon that we were going to next muscle test to calibrate the highest level of intensity (subjectively determined by Gordon on the scale is zero to ten), that would enable him to stay in energetic and interpersonal rapport with Ms. Thomas.

I started off the muscle testing questions asking Gordon’s deepest wisdom if his emotional intensity level starting at number five would maintain this rapport with Ms. Thomas and the answer was yes. I then asked if this would be maintained if he went up to number six and the answer was yes. I then asked if this would be maintained if he went up to number seven and the answer was no. When we went down to 6.5, the answer was yes, and this was the highest number his inner knowing would allow him to calibrate his emotional intensity vibrationally in order to stay in proper relationship to Ms. Thomas. In a departure from the normal DEH protocol, out of curiosity, I then asked Gordon if he now had 100% energetic boundaries with Ms. Thomas and the answer was yes. I next had Gordon demonstrate to me (once again), how he had been emotionally expressing his character before. Following this, I asked Gordon to calibrate how he would act out that same part at only a 6.5 level of intensity. His first try was just past number eight on the scale (after we muscle tested him), so on his subsequent try, he got very close to the 6.5 level of intensity. After a brief discussion, he said he would practice his lines before going back into rehearsal to try to maintain a reliable feel for 6.5 level of intensity. Interestingly, Gordon was spontaneously fully back in his physical body so there was no more work left to do for that session.

At a follow-up session 2 weeks later, Gordon was 100% in his physical body and muscle testing also confirmed that he had maintained his energetic boundaries with Miss Extreme States. I asked him what he noticed as he was acting under her direction at a 6.5 level of emotional intensity. He said for the first time during his rehearsals with her, he started getting consistent positive feedback from her. Though she continued to scream and criticize and put down his other fellow student actors, he seemed to be immune to this, something he found very surprising. He also told me that his acting was very different from before we had that session. He said since bringing his emotional intensity level down to 6.5, he felt that he was containing more of his emotional energy in his torso and solar plexus and felt more in control of being able to modulate at subtle levels what he wanted to express about his villainous character. These were subtleties that he had been unaware of before. He realized retrospectively that when he was calibrating at level ten with his emotional intensity, he was not holding his energy in his body but felt like it was just escaping in a way that he had never been able to notice let alone understand. He was very appreciative for what he had learned, saying he felt it had wider applicability to other relationships in terms of being able to stay in rapport and pay greater attention to subtle interpersonal cues when he’s dealing with somebody who isn’t so extreme.

Feel free to experiment with this calibration scale as I’ve described it today, and let me know if you find any other applications for it, either personally or with your clients.

A friend of mine who is a shamanic practitioner recently asked me if I had ever journeyed to the spirit of DEH. I told her no, I had not thought to do that, so she recommended that I do so and find out what revelations this spirit had for me.

I ended up taking two upper world journeys, the latest having been experienced today. It was my great good fortune to discover that my eagle knew exactly where to take me to meet the spirit of DEH. I entered deep into a cave in the side of a mountain and was led to what appeared to be a glowing hexagonal structure that initially looked like glass. As I approached it, I discovered that it was more like a shimmering semi-permeable barrier that I was allowed to move through. Once in the interior I began to hear words although I did not see any form, as the spirit of DEH began speaking to me.

After it identified itself, I asked it if there was any wisdom or knowledge it could impart to me that would help my clients, trainees and practitioners I have trained as well as myself. It told me that although DEH began as a collaboration with two other therapists with whom I was learning energy psychology, the synthesis that has become my own manifestation of DEH carries within it enormous healing potential because of the extensive “morphic fields” that are connected to it. It told me that when I practice or teach DEH, all of the teachers with whom I’ve ever studied and their own particular lineages have become a part of this expansive DEH healing field. It reminded me that energy psychology has its origins in Chinese medicine that goes back for thousands of years and includes Taoism, acupuncture, qi gong and all the other aspects that compose the Chinese medicine model. It told me that the muscle testing that we use is part of the morphic field of applied kinesiology including all of the teachers that followed George Goodheart Jr. when he developed the discipline and introduced it in 1964. It explained that my 10 years of study with Arny Mindell and his processwork model includes Jungian psychology with its emphasis on archetypes, dreams and the collective unconscious along with quantum physics and shamanism that Arny integrates as significant pieces of his model. As you may know, Arny has of late been facilitating Worldwork seminars internationally as a way to teach conflict resolution within highly polarized collective fields. This too is included in the morphic field. It went on to explain that my practice and study of shamanism is an enormously powerful and ancient morphic field, possibly going back as far as 30,000 years. Within this morphic field are all the shamans from every ethnic tradition along with the spirits in all the worlds that have been called upon to bring their power for healing to alleviate pain and suffering in this world. I thought that was complete but the spirit of DEH reminded me that my many years spent studying and practicing Kundalini and White Tantric Yoga with Yogi Bhajan also has its own morphic field that incorporates both the Sikh and Hindu teachings related to the primal Shakti energy teachings in addition to the other elements that he taught including pranayama, mantra and meditation. I then thought of the years I spent studying Ericksonian hypnosis with teachers such as Stephen Gilligan who studied directly with Milton Erickson himself—yet another linked morphic field. And then it occurred to me to ask the spirit of DEH that if I carried all this in my field as a result of my association with all these other teachers over the years, could I then use some kind of energetic transmission to impart into your respective fields this larger morphic field of DEH as the spirit just described it to me? It said energetic transmission is not some mystical secret, hidden in the crevices of mystery schools that require ritualistic initiations. It told me that all that is required of me is to visualize each and every one of you as I connect to the spirit of DEH and ask the spirit to impart to you what has been acquired in my own personal field. It said it is through my intention (while being aligned to this spirit) that the energetic transmission is instantly accomplished. And so it is for each one of you.

I will be curious to hear from you what you notice about your DEH work now that this energetic transmission via the spirit of DEH has been accomplished, and what becomes accessible to you as you work in the DEH morphic field. Sound fantastic? Yes! Just monitor your thoughts so you don’t go creating any limiting beliefs about what is possible. Although this is at an energetic level, as far as DEH is concerned, you now know what I know. How that unfolds in your life and or practice of course is all Process.

Afterwards, as I was reflecting on the journeys and their implications, I realized the spirit had neglected to mention a few others I have studied with and experienced much that I now integrate into my healing practice of DEH and my personal life. These include the following: Master Chen, with whom I studied and learned Soaring Crane Qigong; Eric Pearl who taught me Reconnective Healing and Richard Bartlett, who taught me Matrix Energetics. Their respective morphic fields have been added and recombined into the growing DEH morphic field. It just keeps growing bigger and bigger. I hope you will join me and bring into the DEH field your own powerful teachers.

Recently, I had visits from two different clients, each of whom was afflicted by the same problem. Although this may sound unusual or even bizarre to you, I assure you that based on the feedback from each client, their affliction was quite real. I will describe one client’s experience using a pseudonym rather than her real name.

I hadn’t heard from Jenny for over two years. She initially came in for help from the loss she suffered when her father died. Though she had siblings, for a variety of reasons, Jenny ended up being the emotional caretaker of her ailing father the last decade of his life. Her father tended to be a bit of a hypochondriac and frequently felt or believed that he was experiencing some kind of life-threatening illness. Consequently, Jenny was frequently on the telephone trying to assuage him and reassure him that he was going to be okay. But when her father finally died of complications from a heart attack, Jenny was bereft. Her grieving process was complicated because she had mixed feelings about her father, with whom she had been emotionally codependent during the last years of his life. Jenny recognized the role that she had fallen into, and thus had a variety of conflicted feelings including anger and resentment, along with grief, guilt and sadness. After eight or nine sessions, she felt complete and all trauma related to the relationship she had had with her father was resolved. Her energetic boundaries were solid and she had no more unfinished business with him. That was two years ago.

When she came in for a recent appointment, she was not mentioning her father. She could only say that within the previous couple of weeks, she started feeling a general sense of malaise, began craving unhealthy junk food and stopped working out as she does regularly. She knew something was off but she could not identify what had caused these changes since there had been no precipitating events that she could put her finger on. When we stepped into process her muscle testing indicated she had general psychoenergetic reversal, and she needed to start with this statement “It’s not safe for me to heal.” Interventions that were called for included the Tibetan bowl and bell, followed by frontal occipital holding. It was during the F/O holding that I perceived that she had no energetic boundaries with her father and still had some conflicting feelings about the relationship she had with him. As the reversals were corrected, we began to dialogue about how she currently feels about the relationship with her father. She was very clear that she wanted to have her father (spiritually) available to consult with, and that she wanted him in her life. She told me that she would often mentally connect to him and felt that they had a very strong spiritual bond. This was curious since her muscle testing revealed she had no energetic boundaries with her father. It became evident that she needed to redefine her relationship with her father and as we discussed this further, it became clear that on an energetic level, she was keeping her father from moving on. I suspected this from our conversation, so I had her extend her arms and muscle tested her as she said (referencing to her father) the following statement: “I need you to be present on the earth plane.” The muscle testing response was strong. I then had her repeat the following statement: “I give you permission to move on.” This muscle testing response was weak. These two statements needed to be corrected, since they reflected a continuation of what had many years earlier been an unhealthy codependent relationship. We continued to dialogue about her relationship with her father, revealing that for unknown reasons, two years after she had completed her work with me about her father’s death, she still had some unresolved grieving regarding his passing on. What I had perceived earlier on when I chimed the Tibetan Bell was that there was some kind of an earthbound spirit that was attached over her left shoulder. It was when I used the frontal occipital holding intervention that I started to get impressions that she had conflicting feelings about her father. It was then that I realized it was her father that she had drawn into her energy field. Jenny needed to know that she would still be able to relate to her father on a spiritual level, even as her father moved on in his own personal spiritual evolution. After we chatted a bit more about how she could redefine the relationship with her father, she was able to reverse those statements that I earlier referenced to so that she could let go of her own emotional attachment to her father energetically, restore and maintain proper boundaries with him and restore her own homeostasis. You see, she was actually drawing him into her energy field in what became a spirit attachment issue.

This is an example of coming into right relationship with an ancestral compassionate spirit, allowing her to live her life in a healthy manner while allowing her father’s spirit to evolve in a healthy manner, even as she continued to communicate to him as a loving guide. It was during another frontal occipital holding intervention that with the assistance of my own compassionate spirits, her father’s spirit was released from her energy field and escorted to his own spiritual family. When all this was done, she commented that she began feeling herself again. I have not heard back from her and know that all is well. It is not necessary to keep an ancestral spirit bound to this middle world realm in order to stay in contact with him or her. Take note of this.

Two postscripts to this are worth mentioning. Western psychology (since its beginnings in 1900 with Freud’s elucidations starting with his seminal book on The Interpretation of Dreams), did not and does not consider problem states initiated from spiritual phenomenon as legitimate. This, I think, is very unfortunate, since all kinds of problems are caused by and perpetuated from spiritual intrusion for all kinds of different reasons. What you have just read is a case description of symptoms generated by what has been known for thousands of years in all varieties of different cultures as possession illness. People who are not treated for issues similar to this client’s case, end up supporting the pharmaceutical industry by being prescribed powerful psychoactive drugs that target their brain chemistry that never really addresses the core issue. The second point I want to mention is that this client had innocuously attended a gathering with some friends hosted by a medical intuitive who went around the circle and gave each of the participants a “reading.” Though I do not know this for certain, it is very possible that being in this collective field where people were spiritually open might have been the event that set up conditions for this ancestral earthbound spirit attachment. Jenny reported that she had no problems prior to this gathering but that they did start at some time about a week after she had that group experience. A cautionary word to the wise: be very judicious about what kinds of spiritual groups you choose to partake in, because as we know from our DEH trainings, energetic phenomena tend to always become amplified in collective processes. The week following my session with this client, I met with another client who had been stable from severe posttraumatic stress disorder that I had been working with for one year. The previous three sessions, she had reported no depression or anxiety, and had been feeling that she was moving progressively closer to terminating therapy with me. Then she attended a Native American funeral with various ceremonies that went on for 24 hours. She found it fascinating, and was actually able to participate in structured ways to support the ceremonies that were being enacted. When she came in two weeks later, it turned out that she had picked up two earthbound spirits (that had attached to her) whose energetic origin was that weekend’s ceremonies. She enjoyed herself during that weekend, and had no idea that anything negative had happened to her. But she was in a large collective field with a lot of strangers and a significant amount of grieving doing things that she was completely unfamiliar with. Her presenting symptoms were waking up in the middle of the night with a panic attack and feeling out of control emotionally for the rest of that day at work. Since then, she reported feeling fatigued with low-grade anxiety along with worry that for some unknown reason, she was regressing back to the state she was in during our initial appointment just about a year ago. Once I was able to help her determine the cause of these problems, it was a simple matter to release these attached beings so that she could feel normal once again.

I know that for some of you these assertions based on my personal experience will seem fantastic and unbelievable. However, I think that you will at least agree with me that the universe we live in is a mysterious place, and “reality” is a relative term. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you regularly honor and pray to your higher power (in whatever form that may be), you can be reassured that you too will be safe from spiritual intrusions.

Recently a client of mine came in after having experienced two significant medical emergencies. Upon subsequent examinations, there seemed to be no apparent medical explanations for them. Having had training in shamanic practices, this individual’s husband was very concerned that these medical emergencies that had recently occurred were a direct result of psychic attacks on his wife by sorcerers. I have to admit, this is not a typical presenting problem for me in my daily practice. Though the husband acknowledged that his wife had mentioned that she had been doing everything she could to spiritually to protect herself from these attacks from the sorcerers, he was becoming increasingly alarmed that she was in way over her head since these medical emergencies that she experienced were very close to life-threatening.

Since the two individuals were not absolutely clear about their starting joint intention, I decided that I would start with the wife to make sure that she had good energetic boundaries with her husband. As we stepped into process, her muscle testing indicated that she was not 100% present in her physical body. There was an objection about safety issues. Through frontal occipital holding, I identified an open portal to the spiritual realm through her seventh chakra. This made me wonder if perhaps she had some energetic boundary issues with the supernatural realm. I asked and she did not. The next intervention cleared the objection and restored full embodiment.

We proceeded by establishing a new intention for the client to establish 100% energetic boundaries with supernatural phenomena. An objection surfaced that reflected an inner part’s concern about not being connected to spirit all the time. But when this was identified, subtle negative energy emerged through the muscle testing. As we more deeply inquired about whatever this subtle negative energy was, an externally intentionally generated curse emerged as the interference. The client suspected the energetic origin of this (which had occurred nearly a decade ago), when she was involved in an altercation with a number of individuals who were engaged in criminal activity at the business she was working at. Her muscle testing confirmed this, as well as the fact that she had no energetic boundaries with them. I set a new set intention to establish energetic boundaries with these individuals who were responsible for generating this curse who had been directing it at her, which was compromising her energetic boundaries with supernatural phenomena. As we got deeper into the energetic origin and the violence trauma imprint that had occurred during the incident, it became clear that my client was also negatively entangled with them, still carrying resentment from their assault on her. As she continued to talk more about the incident, she revealed that these individuals came from a tradition of sorcery and had been tending this curse to stay active, thus continually disempowering her over all of these many years. She suspected that the medical emergencies that she recently had experienced were a direct consequence of this sorcery-induced, intentionally generated curse toward her. As the frontal occipital holding intervention was called for, it was only through the grace and benevolence of one of my upper world compassionate spiritual teachers that the entanglement was severed and at the same time, the curse was sent back to the senders. Subsequent muscle testing revealed that my client now had 100% energetic boundaries with these individuals, no additional remaining traumatic residue from the origin, and her energetic boundaries with supernatural phenomena were spontaneously restored to 100%. Additionally, the active dreaming up process in the parapsychological channel from the trauma at the energetic origin had been completely depotentiated, and her energetic boundaries with her husband had also been restored to 100%.

For me, it was strange to encounter (through my client’s process), a group of individuals actively generating evil intent toward another individual that fit within the paradigm of sorcery. Yet as we got deeper into my client’s process, it became undeniable that this sorcery had been the source of all kinds of physical, emotional and spiritual compromises that my client had been trying to address for a long time, albeit unsuccessfully. Her husband was tremendously relieved of the increasing anxiety he had been experiencing about his wife’s well-being. I am quite sure that traditional cognitive behavioral talk therapy would have been unable to identify and address these issues for these clients. If you can learn to cultivate and trust your second attention awareness, as a facilitator, you can end up supporting your client by going into unknown territories that must be uncovered and that can be resolved.

Some of you may already know how subtle negative energy can complicate manual muscle testing when working with clients. By learning proper procedural protocols, one who uses manual muscle testing as a facilitator for DEH client intentions can effectively root out and identify any dark energy components that the client is carrying as energetic blockages to actualizing his or her intention. Examples of dark energy components fall into the realm of “supernatural phenomena” such as curses, interpersonal entanglements, intrusions and earthbound spirit attachments. Two weeks ago I discovered how subtle negative energy can in fact not only create distraction and deception during the course of normal muscle testing, but can seriously complicate matters by compromising one’s ability to muscle test at all as a facilitator is misled to believe that their client is dehydrated.

Empirical data derived from the discipline of applied kinesiology has shown that for effective muscle testing to be consistent, the client and the facilitator must both be sufficiently hydrated. If one or both are not sufficiently hydrated, manual muscle testing results will become inconsistent and unreliable.

When I started out with my client, she was dehydrated and needed to drink 1 ½ glasses of water so that we could proceed. As we continued our session, we both continued to drink water in order to stay hydrated. About halfway through that session, we were clearing trauma at an energetic origin and we discovered that there was curse energy that needed to be released. We identified the content of the curse and using energy psychology methods, easily released this tenacious negative thought energy from the energetic origin. We then continued to release the remaining traumatic residue and as we proceeded, I noticed that my muscle testing was becoming inconsistent and unreliable. I considered the possibility that my client was dehydrated once again. I had her tug on her hair with one hand and muscle tested her other arm which was very weak. She proceeded to drink a full glass of water and I muscle tested her again with the same result. She drank another half of a glass of water feeling that she had reached her maximum holding capacity for water. When I muscle tested her again for hydration, her arm went completely weak. At this point, I intuitively suspected that something was off. I used surrogate muscle testing specifically asking if there was any subtle negative energy in her field adversely affecting the muscle testing. The first answer was no, followed by a response indicating there was deception. Continuing further inquiry identified that at the place in the energetic origin where we had discovered the initial curse that we had cleared, there had been an entanglement with the same person who had cursed her embedded in the curse that had surreptitiously remained hidden. Once this had been identified, I had her tug on her hair and muscle tested her and in fact, she was completely hydrated. From this point forward, there were no problems and the session proceeded successfully.

For those of you practicing muscle testing within the DEH model or any other energy psychology-based therapy model, let this serve as a reminder that subtle negative energy can complicate your muscle testing on multiple levels. This was the first time that I encountered subtle negative energy impacting the hydration component of the muscle testing process. Though this may sound like a technical discussion for trainees of DEH, my hope is to have this serve as an example that we are working in the Great Mystery, constantly confronting heretofore unknown possibilities that unexpectedly emerge. Our task is to remain curious and persistent, recognizing that if we come from a place of being connected to Source along with humility and “not knowing,” we shall ultimately be supporting our clients to heal.
